Katie Albright is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, a community-based organization working to prevent child abuse and reduce its devastating impact. Under her tenure, the organization has received the following awards: GuideStar Exchange Gold; Charity Navigator Four Star Rating; Giants Community All-Star Award; and 7×7 Magazine Favorite Charity in San Francisco.
Prior to the Prevention Center Ms. Albright was the Policy Director for the San Francisco Education Fund and Co-Director of Policy and Outreach at Preschool California.
Ms. Albright served as Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco’s Office of the City Attorney, as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the San Francisco Unified School District. She also was an associate at Latham & Watkins, LLP in Los Angeles and a law clerk for the United States District Court in Maryland.
She co-founded and taught in the Kayole-Gitau Nursery School and Community Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
Ms. Albright serves on the San Francisco University High School and San Francisco Day School’s Board of Trustees. Previously, she was Commissioner to the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission and Board of Appeals, and a member of SPUR-Recreation and Parks Revenue Task Force and the Public Education Enrichment Fund Community Advisory Committee. She is a former board member of NARAL Pro-Choice America, NARAL Pro-Choice California, and Planned Parenthood Golden Gate.
She is the recipient of a 2012 Ascend Fellowship from The Aspen Institute and 2015 Social Entrepreneurship SEER Fellowship at Stanford University.
Ms. Albright graduated with honors from Georgetown University Law Center and received her Bachelor of Arts from Williams College. She is a member of the California and District of Columbia bars. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children.
